Intel i9-12900HK notebook processor measured data revealed

Intel provided PCWorld with the opportunity to test the Intel i9-12900HK notebook processor in advance. The PCWorld used the MSI GE76 Raider flagship gamebook to conduct the benchmark test.

In terms of parameters, the i9-12900HK is designed with 6 large cores + 8 small cores, with a total of 14 cores and 20 threads, a maximum of 5GHz, a base frequency of 45W, and a maximum turbo frequency of 115W.

On the Cinebench benchmark software, the i9-12900HK scored 726 points in single-core and 6,751 points in multi-core. For comparison, Intel’s previous generation i9-11980HK scored 625 points for single-core and 5213 points for multi-core. Compared with the i9-11980HK, the i9-12900HK has a 16% increase in single-core and a 30% increase in multi-core.

In the “CS: GO” game test, the i9-12900HK+RTX 3080 can achieve a high frame rate of 481fps, while the i9-11980HK+RTX 3080 is 452fps. In Far Cry: New Dawn, the i9-12900HK+RTX 3080 can reach 123fps, while the i9-11980HK+RTX 3080 is 110fps. It should be noted that the TGP of the RTX 3080 in the new generation of gaming notebooks is 10W higher than the previous generation.

Furthermore, Intel released the 12th generation Core mobile processor at CES. Intel says the i9-12900HK is 28% faster than the i9-11980HK in gaming. The performance per watt of the i9-12900HK is higher than the Apple M1 Max and AMD Ryzen 9 5900HX.

In some Adobe, Autodesk software, i9-12900HK performs better than Apple M1 Max and AMD Ryzen 9 5900HX. Moreover, Gaming laptops equipped with the 12th-generation Core are expected to be available in February this year.
